Tuesday American Legion Wrap: Kelly and Davey lead Greece Post in doubleheader sweep; Crandall and Bishop pace Irondequoit

Jack Kelly went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored while Nathan Brinza also finished 2-3 with a two-run double during a four-run third inning to help Greece Post jump out to a 6-1 lead it did not relinquish for its third straight victory and eighth in its last nine outings. Kelly tripled in the fifth, driving in one run and doubled in the third, bringing in another. Mason Davey added an RBI-single and a sacrifice fly to drive in two runs while scoring a run of his own. Wes Sturrup doubled and crossed home plate twice while Colden Forney and Trey Walker both added a hit and a run apiece. Parker Goodness allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk through five innings to pick up the win on the mound. Connor Newton led the way with two runs and two hits including a two-run triple in the seventh inning for Ferris Goodridge Post. Jack Lander also collected two hits including an RBI-single to put Ferris Goodridge on the board first while Brody Ignizio singled, driving in a run to cap off a three-run seventh. Jaeden Ford tallied a hit while Sam Hopkins and Jack Venturelli both crossed home plate once.

Mason Davey went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs to pace Greece Post to its fourth consecutive win and a doubleheader sweep. Davey singled in the third inning driving in a run and connected on a bases-clearing triple in the fourth during a seven-run inning that gave Greece an 11-1 lead for the mercy rule victory. Michael Calogero allowed one run on five hits with two strikeouts and three walks over five innings to earn the win on the mound. Jack Kelly ended 2-3 with two RBI-singles while Peter Clark also finished 2-3 and crossed home plate twice. Derrick Allen doubled, scored two runs and drove in a run while Wes Sturrup and Tré Walker both added a hit, a run and an RBI apiece. Jake Higgins and Colden Forney each drove in a run and crossed home plate once while Nathan Brinza tallied a run as well. For Ferris Goodridge Post, Jack Lander went 2-3 to lead the way while Sam Hopkins had an RBI-double in the second inning which drove in Collin Bates for the lone run of the game. Bailey Zambuto and Josh Davis both singled.

Mikey Crandall collected three hits in four at-bats including a two-run single during a four-run fourth inning to help give Irondequoit Post a 6-2 lead it kept the rest of the way. Crandall also crossed home plate twice. Aaden Bishop went 2-for-3 with a single in the third driving in a run and an RBI-double in the fourth to cap off the inning. Brayden Delly crossed home plate once and allowed two runs on nine hits with one strikeout and one walk through seven innings to earn the win on the mound. Declan Caron, Curtis Welker and Porter Herman all tallied a run apiece. Kayden Yapjoco ended 2-2 and got Braman Post on the board first with an RBI-single in the opening inning while Ethan Light gave Braman a 2-1 lead in the third inning thanks to another RBI-single. Gabriel Reyes scored on both of those plays and added a hit on the day as well. Jacob Natale, Joey Bianchi, Jacob Murray, Brady Beganny and Kevin Donalty all notched one hit each.
