Bruce the Bat Dog’s fame continues to rise- the Rochester Red Wings’ resident “goodest boy” will make two appearances on national television on Wednesday.
The golden retriever, trained by his owner Josh Snyder, will appear on NBC’s Today Show at 9:00 a.m. before appearing on MLB Network’s MLB Central during the 11:00 a.m. hour. Rochester’s local NBC station, WHEC, normally airs the third hour of Today at 10 a.m., which is likely when Rochester viewers will hopefully be able to see Bruce. Bruce will be back in Rochester on Thursday to pick up bats at that night’s Wings game.

Bruce’s latest big media appearances comes not long after he made his major league debut on June 14.
“We always knew Bruce was a star, and now the rest of the country will have the chance to fall in love with him, too. We’re thrilled to see Bruce and Josh receiving the national attention they deserve. It’s going to be awesome for our fans to welcome them both back home here on Thursday night for their first appearance since their MLB debut with the Nationals,” said Rochester General Manager Dan Mason in a press release.
Meanwhile, the two-legged members of the Red Wings begin their series with Syracuse on Tuesday night at 6:45 p.m., beginning the second half.
