One team is making its first regional appearance since 2012 and the other a first in program history. Fillmore and Forestville (VI) are set to face off to send one team to the NYS Class D semifinals. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Fillmore defeated Keshequa 10-5 to claim the Section V Class D championship for the first time in school history. Forestville claimed a 2-0 victory against Ellicotville to win the Section VI Class D championship for the first time since ‘12.
Tempo and trends: Fillmore averages 10.9 runs per game and allows 4.3 runs per game on defense. Forestville averages 7.4 runs per game on offense while allowing 3.4 runs per game on defense.

History 101: This is the first time in program history that Fillmore has made the Far West Regional round. Forestville is making its fifth trip to the state quarterfinals and first since 2012.
