CLASS AAA

No. 4 GREECE STORM (8-15) 6
No. 2 RUSH-HENRIETTA (14-8) 7

There was chatter that the Section V Class AAA final might be a bit of a mismatch. That maybe it won’t last longer than five innings. And maybe a bracket with just four teams is a weakened field. But don’t tell that to the softball players from Rush-Henrietta or the Greece Storm. Because during Saturday’s Class AAA championship game at Monroe Community College, there was plenty of fun, tension and drama. READ MORE.

CLASS AA

No. 3 WEBSTER THOMAS (18-6) 2
No. 1 WEBSTER SCHROEDER (19-2) 1

It’s one thing to win a Section V championship. But to do it against your crosstown rival? The rival that beat you earlier this season? “It means a lot, especially to us seniors,” Webster Thomas pitcher Olivia Bowers said following a 2-1 victory over Webster Schroeder in Saturday’s Section V Class AA championship game at Monroe Community College. “We did not want to go out losing to Schroeder again.” READ MORE.

CLASS A

No. 2 EASTRIDGE (13-8) 5
No. 1 PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND (20-2) 10

For the second consecutive year, and third time in the past four seasons, Pittsford Sutherland has won a sectional title. The Knights collected 14 hits, four of which being extra-base hits, as top-seeded Pittsford Sutherland defeated No. 2 seed Eastridge 10-5 in the Section V Class A softball final on Saturday. Gabrielle Lyons, who hit the deciding home run in the sectional final a year ago, finished with two triples, two RBI, a drawn walk, and two scored runs. She was named the Class A Sectional MVP. CLASS B

HAVERLING (18-1) 4
WELLSVILLE (19-3) 2

Kaili Witherell punched out 13 and allowed two runs (one earned) in a complete game five-hitter to help Haverling advance to the Class B Regional. Witherell also finished 3-for-4 including a one run single in the top of the sixth inning to take a 4-1 lead. Kasandra Plewa went 2-4 with an RBI single and one run scored. Emmalyn Lafler recorded an RBI double as well as one run scored. Both Ryleigh Laverty and Gabrielle Shroyer singled and finished with one run scored. Caydence Spears also singled. Natalie Adams led Wellsville going 2-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base. Both Teagan Burke and Brynn Hallock doubled. Burke also recorded one run scored. Makenna Dunbar singled.

CLASS C1

No. 11 WARSAW (8-12) 0
No. 1 BLOOMFIELD (20-1) 14

After allowing a lead-off single to the Tigers’ Zoe Kaminski, Ashlyn Wright allowed only one more baserunner for the remainder of the game, a walk in the second inning.  The offense gave Wright all she would need with five runs in the bottom of the first and then six more in the bottom of the second. CLASS C2

No. 4 BOLIVAR-RICHBURG (16-4) 5
No. 2 OAKFIELD-ALABAMA (17-3) 0

Kylee Whiting struck out nine and threw a complete game four-hitter to help Bolivar-Richburg win their fourth sectional title in five years. Whiting also stole a base, scored two runs and finished 2-for-3 which included an RBI double in the top of the sixth to extend the lead to 5-0. Jayna Thomas tripled and finished with one run scored. Emma Sisson finished 2-4 with an RBI single. Cassidy Stives singled twice and stole a base. Teegan Sibble notched an RBI single and one run scored. Rylee Whiting singled and ended with one run scored. Sydney Faulkner singled, stole a base and recorded two walks. Danika Loucks singled. Chloe Lamb led Oakfield-Alabama finishing 2-3 with two singles. Emma Thompson singled and stole a base. Allison Williams also singled. Allison Harkness stole a base.

CLASS D

No. 4 FILLMORE (17-4) 10
No. 3 KESHEQUA (16-3) 5

After a 4-4 tie through three innings, Tenlee Miller hit a three-run double to right field as part of a six-run fourth inning to help Fillmore claim program-first Section V title. Miller finished 2-for-4 and added two runs scored. Tournament MVP Morghyn Ross finished 2-2 with a double and a two-run home run in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Ross also walked twice, stole two bases and recorded three runs scored. Mylee Miller fanned five and allowed five runs (three earned) in a complete game effort to earn the win in the circle. The sophomore also went 2-4 with a two RBI triple to finish with one stolen base, three RBI and one run scored. Lily Sisson tripled and finished with one run scored. Chloe Hennard singled and added one run scored. Summer Friedl walked once, stole one base and recorded one RBI. Both Mattie McCumiskey and Abby Earley walked once and recorded one run scored. Earley also stole one base. Lillianna Hugi led Keshequa finishing 3-4 with one run scored and one RBI. Bree Benner doubled, walked once and added two RBI. Emma Jo Pierce went 2-3 with one run scored and one RBI. Ryley Benner singled and stole a base. Isabella Hugi (1) and Skylar Rease (1) rounded out the hitting for Keshequa. Reagan Moroz stole a base.
