Rochester (13-31) scored all nine runs in the fifth inning, as the Red Wings sent 12 hitters to the plate against two Syracuse (20-26) pitchers, with the first nine reaching base without recording an out. The Wings first moved ahead when former Red Wing Joey Meneses had a throwing error that allowed two runs to score, and Darren Baker followed it up with an RBI single to make it 3-0. RBI singles from Daylen Lile and Brady House followed, and a two-run double from Robert Hassell III and a two-run home run from Trey Lipscomb (his third) solidified the 9-0 lead.

Hassell ultimately finished the game with a 3-for-4 night to raise his season batting average to .288. Baker went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.

On the mound, Adrian Sampson earned his first win of the year for Rochester, going 6.2 innings while spreading out nine hits, allowing three earned runs and striking out five before being relieved by Konnor Pilkington, Carlos Romero, and Eduardo Salazar.

Rochester looks to make it three straight on Wednesday when they face Syracuse again in an early 11:05 a.m. start. Right-hander Chase Solesky is scheduled to go for the Wings.
