Monday Flag Football Sectional Wrap: Rountree interception seals East Rochester win; Acoff leads East to semis

CLASS B

NO. 8 PITTSFORD (5-6-1) 18
NO. 1 GREECE ARCADIA (12-0) 28
Aimee Turner had 82 yards rushing including three touchdowns offensively while also leading the Titans defensively with 12 flag pulls (including three for losses) and an interception. Samantha Mau had 77 rushing yards, including a 45-yard touchdown sprint. Kaitlyn Spring made five catches for 61 yards while making 10 flag pulls on the defense. Arcadia hosts Greece Athena in a semifinal game on Thursday.

NO. 2 WEBSTER SCHROEDER (11-1) 32
Emma Rascoe and Isatou Jeng both scored for Webster Schroeder as it won its quarterfinal game. Sadie O’Neill went 30-for-45 with 410 yards and a touchdown for Eastridge, adding 30 yards and a touchdown on the ground as well. Madyson Fizer had 14 receptions for 202 yards and also made an interception and a flag pull. Alyssa Cowart caught nine passes for 140 yards and a touchdown offensively while leading Eastridge defensively with eight flag pulls. Kaitlyn Muniz earned 60 receiving yards and three flag pulls, including one for a loss. Nicole Vicente had 13 receiving yards and five flag pulls. Webster Schroeder hosts East in a Class B semifinal on Thursday, May 22.

East’s Jurnee Acoff scored two touchdowns – one 52-yard receiving and the other 50-yard rushing while pulling five flags on defense. Jessica Conrow added a 25-yard rushing touchdown and also scored an extra point. Tiyanna Marino led the defense with two interceptions and eight flag pulls, as well as three pass deflections. East faces Webster Schroeder in a Class B semifinal on Thursday, May 22.

Mia Rountree’s interception on Bishop Kearney’s final drive sealed the quarterfinal win for East Rochester. Alex LaBounty threw two touchdowns and led the Bombers with 10 flag pulls. Lily Chambers-Silva caught both touchdowns, while Payton Kinney caught both extra point attempts. Kinney also made nine flag pulls. Amira Burroughs also pulled down an interception. East Rochester faces Batavia on Thursday in a semifinal matchup.

NO. 2 CANISTEO-GREENWOOD (11-1) 8
Canisteo-Greenwood’s Lauren Markel scored a rushing touchdown offensively and added an interception and seven flag pulls on defense. Mya Rexford added the other two points with a safety, one of her nine flag pulls in the game. Rexford also recorded an interception. Kadyn Piliero made six flag pulls while rushing for 98 yards. Raegan Freeland added to the Canisteo-Greenwood defense with four flag pulls and an interception. Canisteo-Greenwood hosts Charles G. Finney on Thursday in a Class C semifinal.

Batavia quarterback Jaimin Macdonald was 7-for-11 through the air with 87 yards and two touchdowns while adding 37 yards on the ground as the Blue Devils won their quarterfinal game. Macdonald also aided defensively, returning an interception for a touchdown and making six flag pulls, including one for a loss. Leilah Manuel scored a 50-yard receiving touchdown from MacDonald and also scored an two extra points. Libby Grazioplene ran for 43 yards, and added 25 yards receiving while catching a touchdown pass offensively while also grabbing an interception on defense. Nicole Doeringer had five flag pulls for a loss and ran for 33 yards. Kylee Brennan added 30 all-purpose yards while making six flag pulls, including two for a loss. Alyssa Turner (6 flag pulls) and Phoebe Beal (2 pass deflections) also contributed defensively. Izzie Hoffman led Gananda with 10 flag pulls, while Alycia Rickman and Aly Cruz had six. Cruz also had 20 yards receiving. Ella Lathrop threw for 84 yards and rushed for 34. Emerson Paull made an interception and pulled four flags. Batavia hosts East Rochester on Thursday in a semifinal matchup.
