Thursday Flag Football Wrap: Maxon paces Geneva; Turner, Arcadia stay perfect

Aimee Turner paced Greece Arcadia’s offense with eight rushes for 110 yards and two scores paired with a 40-yard punt return touchdown. Samantha Mau found the end zone for the fifth time this year, ending with 40 yards. Lily Tracz threw her first career touchdown, connecting on a 10-yard score with Priya Allen, who caught her first. Vivian Koffa tacked on nine rushes for 39 yards. Abrianna Cerqua led the defense with eight flag pulls, three for loss.

BATAVIA (2-2) 14
GREECE ODYSSEY/OLYMPIA (2-1) 6

Jaimin Macdonald rushed for a touchdown and completed 8-of-17 passes for 61 yards and another score to lead Batavia. Macdonald rushing touchdown came from 10 yards out as time expired in the first half.  The senior also threw an interception. Libby Grazioplene contributed 99 all-purpose yards, including an 8-yard receiving touchdown from Macdonald.  Alyssa Turner and Leilah Manuel each converted a point-after as Batavia built a 14-0 first half lead. Kylee Brennan led the defense with 10 flag pulls – four for a loss, with 2 passes defensed.  Leilah Manuel added five flag pulls for loss.  Alyssa Turner grabbed her second interception in as many games, along with four flag pulls and two passes defensed.

PENFIELD (2-1) 20

Penfield completed the shutout as Molly Brown, Emma Garigen and Sophia Puccia found the end zone.

WAYNE (1-1) 0

Avery Hoffmann was 16-of-26 passing with three touchdowns and 23 yards rushing in Gananda’s shutout. Izzie Hoffmann ended with 83 yards and two touchdowns receiving with a team-high nine flag pulls defensively. Lily Aylett posted 25 yards and a touchdown receiving. Maggie McGarvey rushed for 18 yards. Aly Cruz tacked on six flag pulls.

GENEVA (4-1) 33

Trinity Maxon accounted for five total touchdowns in Geneva’s fourth straight win. She had two scoring runs of 30 or more yards, plus a 52-yard touchdown toss to Zyla Reid. Athena Tumbelekis caught a 12-yard touchdown.
