Cody Forjone hurled a complete game one-hitter, striking out 12 to lift Newark in the season opener. Forjone retired the first nine batters in order and did not allow a ball to leave the infield until Dylan Caraballo roped a leadoff single in the fourth inning for the lone Waterloo hit. Carlos Martinez smoked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first, giving Newark an early lead. In the frame, Michael McGavisk led off the inning with a single, before Cody Forjone soaked up a hit-by-pitch with one out. Nolan Rice then added a base hit to load the bases for Martinez. In the sixth inning, McGavisk drove in Jayce Baker and Nolan Benedict with a single, giving the Reds a five-run lead. Baker and Keane Brady both scampered home in the seventh for Newark. Rice and Brady both finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. McGavisk was 2-4 with two RBI and scampered home once. Devin Littlefield went 1-2. Forjone singled and scored. Benedict scored and drove in one. For Waterloo, Jacob Wolff trotted home in the seventh inning for the lone Tiger run.

Jackson Stevens trotted home in the bottom of the seventh, securing Bishop Kearney/Chesterton/Archangel’s first win of the season. After Jackson Nurse opened the scoring for Midlakes in the top of the first, Noah Banks worked a run-scoring walk to tie the game at one in the bottom half of the frame. Nurse then smacked a single with Braxton Wilkes coming around to score. Nurse stole home later in the stanza, making it 3-1 Midlakes. Augustine Valentini drove in Athanasius Valentini in the third, cutting the deficit to one. Cohen Egburtson scampered home for Midlakes in the fourth. In the bottom half, Ethan Nolan trotted home, before Henry Collins drove in two with a single, making it 5-4. Nurse scored in the fifth for Midlakes to make it 5-5. Collins and Augustine Valentini both trotted home in the sixth for the Kings, setting up the walkoff. Both Collins and Augustine Valentini recorded two hits, with Collins driving in two and scoring once. Nolan, Hector DeJesus, Kelly and Stevens all scored a run for the Kings. For Midlakes, Nurse went 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Jonathan Capozzi went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Egburtson scored twice.

Dylan Wenban went 3-for-6 with five runs scored and an RBI, allowing Haverling to win its second straight. The Rams featured four batters with three hits in the game and strung together 17 hits total. Lukas Wightman finished 3-4 with three runs driven in and a pair of runs scored. Dayton Orlowske was 3-6 with three singles and scampered home once. Mason Davis finished 3-5, scoring a pair and driving in one. Gage Thomas drove in three runs, scored three times and went 2-5 at the dish. Landin Ames and Eric Carney-Hendrix both singled, scored and had an RBI. Jackson Derick roped an RBI double and came around to score in the sixth. For Campbell-Savona, Zachary Corell smacked a double and drove in a run in the sixth. Rece Jamison and Liam Maddock both recorded an RBI and a run scored. Lucas Corey drove in a run in the first. Carter Taft and Dakota Ogden both scampered home once. Ethan Loveless added a single.
