Landon Washburn led Honeoye to a 19-win season and the top seed in Class C3. Kenny Halsey paced South Seneca to 18 wins and second seed in C3. Cam Blankenberg led the Wayne squad to the second seed in Class A with 18 victories.
Finger Lakes Boys’ Basketball coaches honored the trio with Player of the Year honors for their respective divisions.
Washburn and Halsey represented the Finger Lakes West and Blankenberg, Finger Lakes East.
Washburn earned his first Finger Lakes West Player of the Year honor as he averaged 25.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.1 steals. The sophomore recorded six double-doubles on the season and dropped a career-high 47 points in a 82-58 victory over Red Jacket on Feb. 11. He joined the 1,000-point club this season after a 36-point outing against Livonia on Feb. 7 and topped off Honeoye’s historic season with its first state final appearance in program history.
Halsey joins Washburn as Finger Lakes West Player of the Year as the senior averaged a double-double of 19.4 points and 10 rebounds on the season. Halsey led South Seneca to the Class C3 sectional final and was nominated for the Greater Rochester Ronald McDonald House All-Star game.
Teammates Owen Cuba and Owen Reynolds joined Washburn on the Finger Lakes West First Team All League. Aidan Webster and Chris Clancey were recognized out of Dundee-Bradford and Tim Brown (Red Jacket) also joined the First Team along with Halsey.

Finger Lakes East Player of the Year Blankenberg averaged 28 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to grab the honor. The junior notched a triple-double on six separate occasions and racked up 20 double-doubles on the season. Blankenberg tops returning active scorers in Section V with 1,674 career points and led Wayne to its second straight Class A title and second consecutive state semifinal appearance in school history.
Teammate Aiden Twist joins Blankenberg on the 2024-25 Finger Lakes East First Team All-League while Kaden Larsen and DePatrick Overstreet both were honored out of Geneva. Mynderse’s Griffin Hilimire and Alan Plummer earned First Team nominations along with Dylan Caraballo from Waterloo.
