Goodness named Finger Lakes East Player of the Year

Taryn Goodness led Palmyra-Macedon to a 15-win season and an 11-3 record in league play. The senior was the head of a Red Raiders squad that grabbed the fifth seed in Class A. Finger Lakes East Girls’ Basketball coaches named Goodness the 2024-25 Player of the Year.

The senior ended her high school career with 1,208 points (15th among active scorers in Section V) as she averaged 15.7 points on 49 percent shooting from the field on the season. To go along with the scoring, Goodness averaged 7.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.9 assists and picked up nine double-doubles this season. The senior was also named Defensive Player of the Year in the Finger Lakes East and earned a spot Greater Rochester Ronald McDonald House All-Star game.

To go along with Goodness, Gwyn Panek, Maci Mueller and Addison Bree all garnered 2024-25 Finger Lakes East First Team All League honors out of Waterloo. Karina Natale (Newark), TaKyla Vaughn (Newark) and Calla McCombs (Bloomfield) earned First Team honors as well.
