
Two teams making second regional appearances in separate program histories. One squad is 1-0 and the other is 0-1. Honeoye and Westfield will clash at Rush-Henrietta High School for a spot in the NYS Class C semi-finals. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Honeoye opened up postseason play with a 67-48 victory over Mount Morris in the quarterfinals after receiving a bye in the first round. The Bulldogs carried that momentum into the semifinals with a 10-point victory against Charles G. Finney (60-50) to advance to the C3 title game and Honeoye then beat South Seneca (54-27) to capture the title. Honeoye advanced and topped York (52-42) to clinch a spot the state quarterfinals. Westfield topped Brocton 89-51 in the Class C Section VI tournament. The Wolverines went on to beat Randolph (64-58) and Holland (72-57) to move to regionals.

Trends: Honeoye has not lost since the first game of the season. All four of the Bulldogs’ postseason wins have been by double digits. Westfield has won eight straight, five of those by 15 or more points.

History 101: Honeoye is making its first regional appearance since 1985 when the Bulldogs beat Forestville (D) 63-42. Westfield reached the Class D regional in 2022 (lost to Avoca-Prattsburgh).
What’s at stake: Winner advances to the state semifinal and will face either Cooperstown (III) or Moravia (IV).
