West Herr Tuesday Girls’ Basketball Wrap: Dyring leads Hornell into states; Isaman registers double-double as Kesehqua edges Bloomfield

Jordyn Dyring scored 24 points, including eight in the first quarter as Hornell took an early 20-11 lead that it did not relinquish. With the win, the Red Raiders move on to the state tournament. Payton Bentley put up 23 points, while Mia Nasca (11) and Selena Maldonado (10) also reached double-digits in the win. Raegan Evingham (5) and A’Jonay Hawkins (2) rounded out the scoring. Sa’Niyah Bell led Lyons with 13 points, followed by Jayla Bell (11) and Carmella Parker (10). Kam Bonnell (8) and Addison Jones (2) filled out the rest of the scoresheet. Hornell will face the winner of Wednesday’s Section VI qualifier between Salamanca and Newfane in the New York State Far West Regional.

KESHEQUA (23-1) 66

Braelyn Isaman’s 23 point, 11 rebound double-double night sent Keshequa to the state tournament. The sophomore also handed out eight assists on the night. Alicia Wood (13 points, with 6 rebounds) and Ryley Benner (12 points, with 4 assists) also reached double-digits for the Wildcats. Bree Benner accounted for nine points in the win. Ava Thayer had seven points and six assists while Riley Nageldinger finished with two points, seven rebounds and four steals. Abby Wood recorded three rebounds. Bloomfield’s Calla McCombs led all scorers with 30 points, while Lily Baughman (12) and Annie Dodge (10) both reached double-digits. Ashlyn Wright (8), Sydney Falsone (3), and Addison Falsone (2) rounded out scoring. Keshequa faces Frewsburg in state quarterfinals, Saturday at Buffalo State.
