
One team is looking for a second trip in three years to the state quarterfinals. The other is trying to reach the state tournament for the first time in more than a decade. Keshequa and Bloomfield take the court on Tuesday night with a chance to clinch a spot in the NYS Class C Far West Regional. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Keshequa had a first-round bye before double-digit wins over No. 8 Pavilion (63-39) and No. 5 Oakfield-Alabama (41-29). The Wildcats defeated No. 3 York in the Class C2 title bout 57-52. Bloomfield topped No. 14 Red Jacket (66-22), No. 11 East Rochester (74-35), No. 2 Byron-Bergen (79-32) and in the finalls topped No. 1 Caledonia-Mumford 64-47.
Scoring offense: Keshequa (63.1), Bloomfield (59.3)
Scoring defense: Keshequa (40.4), Bloomfield (41.9)
Trends: Keshequa’s last loss was Dec. 9 and the Wildcats have won 20 games straight. All but three Wildcat games were double-digit victories. Twelve of their wins on the year were by over 20 points. Bloomfield collected win streaks of five and four in the regular season.

History 101: Keshequa is looking to make its second trip in three years and third overall to the state quarterfinals. Bloomfield last advanced to the state tournament in 2007. Bloomfield repeated as Class C1 champion and brought home its 14th title. Historically, the Bombers trail only Pittsford Mendon (17) and Elba (16) in Section V GBBB championships. Bloomfield three-peated from 1999-2001 to cap off seven titles in 10 seasons.
