
One competitor hasn’t lost in 2025. The other has gotten hot at the right time. In both corners are teams that have brought home the crown since 2022. Keshequa and York will battle for the Section V Class C2 Girls’ Basketball title at Finger Lakes Community College. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Keshequa had a first-round bye before double-digit wins over No. 8 Pavilion (63-39) and No. 5 Oakfield-Alabama (41-29) landed the Wildcats in the final. York downed No. 14 Campbell-Savona (90-26), No. 6 Perry (65-25) and No. 2 Dundee/Bradford (58-39) by a combined margin of 213-90 to coast to the title game.

Trends: Keshequa’s last loss was Dec. 9 and the Wildcats have won 19 games straight. All but two Wildcat games were double-digit victories. Twelve of their wins on the year were by over 20 points. York started the season 10-1.

History 101: Keshequa is only two years removed from its last title and has five since 2010. The Wildcats battle for their ninth championship as a program. York claimed back-to-back sectional crowns in 2021 and 2022. A win would secure the Golden Knights’ fifth title.
What’s at stake: Winner advances to the Class C regional qualifier to face either Caledonia-Mumford or Bloomfield.
