
A rematch of last year’s Class AAA final is set to take place. Fairport won the crown last year and is looking to grab its eighth title in school history this year. Greece Arcadia/Olympia is searching for its first title since the merger. Finger Lakes Community College will host these two teams in a fight for the Section V Class AAA Girls’ Basketball title. How they arrived here: Top-seeded Fairport earned a first-round bye and defeated Greece Athena/Odyssey 69-28 to move onto the Class AAA final. Greece Arcadia/Olympia topped Edison/WOIS 67-64 to reach the finals after also receiving a first-round bye.

History 101: Fairport is on the hunt for its eighth section title. Fairport won last year over Greece Arcadia/Olympia 42-35 and won four straight from 1997-2000. Greece Arcadia has won five titles with its most recent in 2004 and Greece Olympia has one title which came in 1975.
