“I can’t begin to describe the defensive effort our kids came through with today,” Oakfield-Alabama head coach Jeff Schlagenhauf. “Our team defense was incredible and Alexa [Clark], Piper [Hyde] and Alea [Groff] were tasked with some challenging defensive assignments as they are a high-powered offensive team. We showed great discipline and composure. I am incredibly proud of our kids. A total team effort!”

Five Elba Lancers scored in double figures to stay undefeated and advance to the semifinals. Brea Smith led Elba scorers with 19 points plus seven rebounds. Sydney Reilly posted a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Mariah Ognibene added 14 points and nine boards. Lydia Ross (12) and Maddie Hall (11) also found the scorebook.
“We started slow after a 10-day layoff but got our defense rolling which created good opportunities on offense,” Elba head coach Charlie Pangrazio. “Our entire team is working hard and I’m proud on how well they are sticking together this season.”

Sofia Falleti led Notre Dame Batavia to the semifinals with 10 points and eight rebounds. Emma Fitch contributed six points and four steals. PennyJo Thompson had six points and five boards. Gianna Falleti contributed four points and four steals.
“The whole team played an equal amount today and was able to contribute on both ends of the floor,” said NDB head coach Vinny Falleti. “I was so proud of all our girls’ defensive efforts and how hard they played.”
