Corey Rene led the Fairport offense with a four goal effort to help them advance to Class A quarterfinals. One of Rene’s goals was an empty netter to seal the victory. Julian Gianvecchio scored an even strength and power play goal while tallying three helpers for the Red Raiders. Jack Gosiewski recorded a hat trick and an assist in the victory. Nick Rene collected three helpers while Hunter Smeek and Andrew Crowley each registered two of their own. Angelo Latore led the Penfield offense with a power play goal and three assists. Thomas Obstarczyk scored as well and registered two helpers. Wesley Maksymiu found the back of the net twice for the Patriots. Rory Gately and Connor Anson also scored in the contest. Anson’s goal came with the man advantage. Nick DiCataldo tallied two helpers while William Dorritie and George Marron each recorded one of their own. Fairport will take on the second seed McQuaid in the quarterfinals on Friday, February 21.
