Advantage Federal Credit Union Weekend Section V Hockey Wrap: Tanner records shutout for Batavia Notre Dame; Wilson and Triantafilou record 1,000th career saves

FRIDAY’S GAMES

GREECE STORM (7-12-0) 5
CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (6-13-0) 1
Three Storm players recorded four points to help Greece get back into the win column. Jayden Gargana led the way in the scoring threat with a hat trick that featured a power play goal and chipping in an assist. Camden Monks scored a goal and collected three assists while Alex Rink registered four helpers. Chase Benham also found the back of the net for the Storm. Trever and Carter Griffin each recorded an assist. Anthony Indiano scored the lone goal for Churchville-Chili with an assist from Joseph Pellegrino. Cole Wilson and Stratos Triantafilou both recorded their 1,000th career saves.

BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE (6-10-1) 2
WEBSTER SCHROEDER (13-5-0) 9
Jake SanSoucie led the Webster Schroeder offense with a four point effort to help them win back-to-back contests. SanSoucie scored twice including once on the power play and tallied two assists. Nick Johnson, Anthony Pusateri, Dom Pusateri, and Nicholas Scott all collected a goal and recorded a helper. Tyler Splain, Noah Spakoski and Dylan Peeso also found the back of the net for the Warriors. Connor Scott recorded three assists while Matt Dieter collected two of his own. Scott Wagner, Cody Preston, and Zach Broccolo all registered a helper.  Patrick Rohr and Matthew Brassie scored for Brighton/HFL/Eastridge. Natalie Loncz recorded an assist for the Bruins.

FAIRPORT (4-13-0) 6
IRONDEQUOIT (7-10-0) 7 OT
Hunter Weisbeck scored the overtime game winner while tallying a hat trick to help Irondequoit complete the comeback from behind victory. Late in the second period, the Eagles fell behind 6-3, but rallied in the third with back-to-back goals from Landon Bryan including one on the power play where Bryan was the extra attacker. The junior forward also recorded a hat trick for the Eagles. Weisbeck scored the final two goals of the contest including the game tying and winning goal. Ryan Adams also found the back of the net for Irondequoit. Dylan Carey tallied three helpers while Tommy Holve collected two of his own. Caiden VanDeusen contributed an assist. Marc Hillier, Jack Gosiewski, and Andrew Crowley led the Fairport offense with a goal and two assists. Crowley found the back of the net short handed. Corey Rene also scored a man short. Mitchell Monte scored for the Red Raiders on the power play. Kevin Paiement also scored in the contest. Julian Gianvecchio Chipped in a helper in the high scoring affair.

SPARTAN HOCKEY (10-8-1) 8
CANANDAIGUA (5-13-0) 2
Oliver Sunday tallied three points to help Spartan Hockey end its two game losing skid. Sunday found the back of the net twice while chipping in an assist. Zach Fennell, Matt Turner, and Paxton Landon all collected a goal and an assist. AJ Parker, Evan Stewart, and Nick Maslowski all found the back of the net as well for the Spartans. Ryan Prusak and Parker Monette each registered two helpers.  Nathan Meisenzahl, Wyatt Flannery, Dominic Mariano, and Colin Mancuso all chipped in an assist. Zachary Hoffman and Christian Stasko each scored for Canandaigua. Karl Warren tallied two assists while Alex Chen collected one for himself.

SATURDAY’S GAMES

WFL PANTHERS (4-12-2) 4
AQUINAS (14-5-0) 6
Ryan Carmody scored four goals to help Aquinas win its seventh straight contest. Ares Miller recorded four points with a goal and three assists. Ryan Whitney also found the back of the net for the Li’l Irish. Caleb Wood registered two assists while Mikey Dossier collected one of his own.

BATAVIA NOTRE DAME (10-5-2) 2
MCQUAID (10-6-1) 0
Rhys Tanner stopped all 19 shots he faced to help Batavia Notre Dame win its third straight. After a scoreless first period, Cade Shamp found the back of the net on power play early in the second period with an assist from Jake Hutchins. Jameson Motyka added an empty net goal to seal the victory for the United. Liam Berger assisted on the insurance goal. Motyka’s goal was 100th career tally.

PORTSIDE ROYALS (10-7-0) 3
WEBSTER THOMAS (12-4-2) 1
Portside Royals clinched back-to-back victories. Connor Thomas, Zac Haines, and Justin Pastorella all scored for the Royals. Haines goal came on the power play. Kyle LaForce assisted on Thomas’ and Pastorella’s goals while Wyatt Pentz and Pastorella helped on Haines’ man advantage tally. Liam Bischoping stopped 19 shots during the contest. Greg Van Heusen scored the lone goal for Webster Thomas with an assist from Cam Hall.

IROQUOIS CENTRAL (VI) 1
IRONDEQUOIT (8-10-0) 4
Irondequoit won its fifth straight contest. Hunter Weisbeck,Tommy Holve, and Ryan Adams all recorded a goal and an assist. Holve scored on the power play. Landon Bryan also scored for the Eagles. Dylan Carey tallied two assists while Jack Springer registered one of his own.
