West Herr Saturday Girls’ Basketball Wrap: Green pours in 31, Aquinas claims ninth straight; Spears nets career-high 17

Mallory Heise drilled seven threes, totaled 36 points and 12 rebounds in just three quarters played, and helped Hilton go on a 20-0 second-quarter run and enter the break up 43-16. Paige Siciliano chipped in three 3-pointers as the Cadets reached 12-0. Jayleigh Esposito, Madison Murphy and Ella Simonelli contributed seven points apiece. Elena Graziano (3), Paige Dean (2), Megan Marean (2), Madeline Patton (2) and Ava Heise (1) rounded out Hilton’s scorers.

BISHOP KEARNEY (11-1) 67

Leah Dukes had eight in the first and finished with 17 in Bishop Kearney’s win. Clair Spears hit three 3-pointers toward 17 points, a career-high. After trailing 32-31 at the half, Kearney’s Asia Wilson accounted scored nine in the third for a 21-11 advantage in the frame. Adriana Kennedy ended with 12. Klarissa Goode contributed eight. Kayla Hayes poured in 13 in the first for Cardinal O’Hara. Ny’Ema Blair recorded 10 of her 18 in the second. Samya Walker knocked down two 3-pointers and finished with eight. Elonna McGriff (4) and Mikeylah Biles (3) rounded out the scorers.

Cassidy Cone scored eight of her game-high 17 in the first as Penfield established a 19-2 lead. Audriana Funk ended with 12 and scored seven in the second quarter as the Patriots went up 31-12 at halftime. Emma Alexander had four of her seven in the first quarter. Bella Cohoon poured in six points in the fourth quarter. Olivia Lanning and Sara Petre registered four points apiece. Meghan Quigley and Reegan Sercu put up two each. Bayleigh Freid hit a free throw. Jayana Tape hit four 3-pointers for Williamsville North. Ava Black, Savannah Markins and Isabella McCormick each contributed four.

Loren Green posted 31 to lead Aquinas to its ninth straight victory. Molly O’Toole poured in 24. AJ Orr contributed 14. Carlee Thomas recorded 12. Jade Harvey, Julianna Knugwa and Samiyha Wright put up two apiece. Gabriella Brown-Sturdivant and Darianna Weathers paced East with 15 each.

Jorja Gray led Spencerport scorers with 16 on top of nine rebounds and two blocks. Alena Zaher contributed nine points, seven boards and two blocks. Jayda Soloman tacked on six. Emily Peacock tallied five. Alia Gatto (3) and Leigha Pokracki (2) also found the scorebook. Allie Frederickson scored 11 to head Finney. Lucy Broome posted 10. Laniey Vargas (3) and Kyley Knittle (2) rounded out the scorers.

Maddie Daggett scored 13 of her 15 in the first half to go up 38-21 en route to Marcus Whitman’s sixth straight win. Aliysiah Clarke and Sophie Snyder scored 16 each. Helen Snyder contributed seven. Lily Carroll and Cecelia Conley tallied four apiece. Whitney Cotroneo and Ellie Deatherage each tacked on two. Breyelle Geiger led SOTA scorers with 14. Gabby Norman tacked on 11. Jasmyne Jones ended with nine.

Jayla Bell hit two first-half threes and scored 10 of her 18 in the second half. She also finished with 13 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kamryn Bonnell hit four second-half 3-pointers and ended with 14 and an assist. Lyons went on a 37-21 second-half run to take the win. Car’Mella Parker tallied 10 points, five boards and a steal. Ja’Niyah Bell put up nine points, 18 rebounds, an assist, three steals and three blocks. Areyanna Carter recorded three points, three rebounds and an assist. Mackenna Mullen had 10 of her 14 in the first half. Bailey Mullen scored 11 of her 13 after halftime. Paris May and Harlie McCaffery contributed eight each. Anna Mitchell added three.

Sofia Falleti recorded a game-high 28 points with six rebounds and four steals to spearhead ND-B’s fourth straight win. Shirley Thompson (6) and Gianna Falleti (5) contributed. Lucia Fiorentino put up 13 rebounds.

“Our girls came out after playing back-to-back nights and gave effort and energy on the floor,” NDB head coach Vinny Falleti. “Holly put up a good defensive battle and we were able to use our speed when pressed.”
