Cone led all scorers with 24 points, while Alexander tallied 17. The win was the 400th for Penfield coach Mark Vogt, who has gone 400-108 since taking over the varsity team in 2001. Kristen Baller led Webster Thomas with 14 points.

Hazell Nickerson scored seven points (including five in the fourth quarter) while pulling down 15 rebounds and blocking nine shots. Maria Geary was Avon’s top scorer, with 14 points.

The senior guard had 16 in the first half to help the Cadets establish a 35-19 halftime lead. Paige Siciliano knocked down two first-quarter 3-pointers. Ella Simonelli scored 10 in the first half and ended with 17 with 10 rebounds. Maddie Murphy scored eight of her ten in the fourth quarter. Jayleigh Esposito posted eight points. Ava Heise tacked on seven. Madeline Patton scored a bucket along with 10 boards. Paige Dean added two. Megan Wolf had nine of her 17 in the first and lead all Horseheads’ scorers. Mallory Heise poured in 27 of her game-high 34 points in the second half when Hilton (No. 1 NYSSWA Class AA) outscored Waverly (No. 18 NYSSWA Class B) by 18 to pull away from a tie game at half. Heise, who this past Saturday set the program’s single-game scoring mark with 41 points against Brighton, connected on 9-of-16 shots from the floor and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. The St. Bonaventure University commit also grabbed 11 rebounds. Maddie Murphy finished with 11 points and seven rebounds while Ella Simonelli had nine points and five rebounds. Madeline Patton (4), Paige Siciliano (3) and Jayleigh Esposito also scored for Hilton. The loss was the first of the year for Waverly (9-1). The win was the second state over a state-ranked opponent for Hilton which beat Horseheads (No. 23 NYSSWA AA), 74-41 on Saturday. Hilton travels to face Webster Thomas for a 7:15 tip-off on Wednesday.
