Lindsay Lenhard led Spencerport to a Monroe County Division II title and ninth straight Class AA sectional title while Pittsford Mendon’s Kate Crowley paced the Vikings to a Class A sectional championship, a Monroe County Division III title, and eventually Mendon’s first NYS championship since 1988. Molly Brown helped Penfield to a Monroe County Division I title. The trio garnered Player of the Year honors for their respective divisions as announced Monroe County coaches.
Brown (Penfield) led the Patriots to a 15-2-1 record with 13 goals and six assists for a total of 32 points this season to earn her Division I Player of the Year. The senior midfielder found the back of the net four times in a 5-2 victory over Gananda on Sept. 10 and netted the game winner to lift Penfield over Hilton 1-0 on Oct. 7. In sectionals, Brown continued her offense attack as she found the back of the net in a 3-2 victory against Brighton in the quarterfinals.
Joining Brown on the Division I First-team are teammates Lyla Schenck, Gianna Ciavarri, and Julianna Blaakman. Hilton’s Olivia Pilato, Mallory Heise, and Sierra Bianchi earned First-Team honors along with McKenna Reh, Brenna Burns, and Ashlee Stagnitto from Victor. Gia Catalano and Jocelyn Gudyka from Webster Schroeder earned honors while Fairport’s Savanna Biehler and Andrea Wilson were recognized as well. Rounding out the Division I First-team are Sophie Esders from Webster Thomas and Layla McLean from Rush-Henrietta.
Lenhard (Spencerport) earned her Player of the Year honor for Division II after leading the Rangers to another undefeated regular season. The University of North Carolina – Wilmington commit topped Division II with 29 goals and 28 assists as she racked up 86 points on the year. The senior midfielder completed four hat tricks this year against Brighton (9/7), Greece Arcadia (9/26), Irondequoit (9/30), and Canandaigua (10/17). The most points Lenhard tallied in a game was nine back on Oct. 17 against Canandaigua as she scored three goals and picked up three assists along the way. In the postseason, the senior registered three goals and four assists including the game winner to defeat Greece Athena 2-1 in the semifinals.
Joining Lenhard on the Division II First-team include teammates Emily Peacock, Liana Tata, and Jayda Solomon. Avery Aloi, Tessa Wood, and Madison Mastrodonato were recognized from Churchville-Chili while Finn Cregan, Hillarie Ostar, and Lucy Peters earned honors from Brighton. Irondequoit’s Casey Keller and Rhia Hummel along with Cassie Carpenter and Delaney Meyer from Gates Chili earned spots on team. Greece Arcadia’s Kaitlyn Spring and Canandaigua’s Anna Cywinski round out the Division II First-team selections.
Crowley (Mendon) led the way defensively for the Vikings as she racked up 104 saves on the year and allowed only nine goals en route to Mendon’s fifth sectional title and first state title since 1988. The senior goalkeeper recorded 13 shutouts on the season and allowed more than one goal in only one game this season in a 3-2 victory against Our Lady of Mercy in the quarterfinals. Crowley recorded more than five saves in 12 games this season including a 10 save game against Brighton on Oct. 5. In the postseason, the senior registered 38 saves and allowed five goals to go along with three shutouts, one coming in the Class A title against Pittsford Sutherland 1-0 and another in the Far West Regional against Section VI champions Lewiston-Porter 1-0.
Teammates Charlotte Engin, Gabriella Giordano, and Lily Larimer joined Crowley on the Division III First-team. Pittsford Sutherland’s Laura Manjervoic, Skyler Fliss, and Tori Froula earned selections while Julia Russo, Abigail Devine, and Kate Rayburn were recognized out of Greece Athena. Ella Shamp and Kylee Brennan from Batavia along with Greece Olympia’s Sarah Tawaf and Hannah Roxstrom earned honors while Brockport’s Maddi Gilfilian and Honeoye Falls-Lima’s Audrey Flynn round out the Division III First-team.
