It was a clash between the Class C1 champions Williamson Marauders and the Class C2 champions Byron-Bergen Bees at Caledonia-Mumford High School for a spot in the New York State quarterfinals. Junior forward Grace DiQuattro netted the game-winner to lift Byron-Bergen to its sixth straight win and advance to the Far West Regional Final with a 2-1 victory.

Tied 1-1, Byron-Bergen’s senior forward Janessa Amesbury got control of the ball. She connected with DiQuattro who found the back of the net with five minutes remaining in regulation for the game-winning goal. DiQuattro also tallied an assist late in the first half as she found junior midfielder Mia Gray for her 36th goal of the season with three minutes remaining. Gray leads Section V in goals this season while DiQuattro now has 24 goals on the season and 17 assists. Senior goalkeeper Natalie Prinzi made five saves in the victory.

The Bees shift their focus to this Saturday, Nov. 9th for the Far West Regional Final as they take on Section VI champion Frewsburg. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
