Monroe County Division I and RCAC foes will meet for a rematch of last year’s Section V Class AAA Boys’ Soccer championship on Tuesday night. Fairport and McQuaid Jesuit take the field at Eastridge for a 5:00 p.m. scheduled start. Fairport is looking to repeat as champions. Here is what you need to know:

How they arrived here: Top-seeded Fairport (No. 3 NYSSWA Class AAA) had a first-round bye in a five-team sectional tournament. The Red Raiders defeated No. 4 Rush-Henrietta 2-0 to advance to the Class AAA final. McQuaid Jesuit (No. 4 NYSSWA Class AAA) had a first-round bye and defeated No. 3 WOIS/Edison/Padilla/SOTA 0-0 to advance to the finals.

Trends: Fairport has won six straight coming into Tuesday’s game outscoring its opponents 14 -5. Fairport hasn’t given up more than two goals in a game yet this season. McQuaid Jesuit is on a 12-game win streak heading into the final. The Knights have five shutouts in that win streak while scoring 53 goals.

History 101: Fairport is going for its second straight sectional title after winning the Class AAA championship last year. The Red Raiders are looking for their 12th title in program history and sixth in the last eleven years. McQuaid Jesuit is searching for its second title in the last three years and its fourth out of the last eight years.
