Section V Girls’ Soccer hands out a championship on Friday, November 1 at 7:45 when Kendall and Byron-Bergen meet with the Class C2 title up for grabs at Gates Chili. Here is what you need to know:

How they arrived here: Kendall (No. 5 NYSSWA Class C) opened the tournament with two straight shutouts, blanking No. 16 Perry (11-0) and No. 9 Oakfield-Alabama/Elba (4-0) before defeating No. 5 Caledonia-Mumford, 3-2, in the semifinals. Byron-Bergen began the tournament by beating No. 15 Red Jacket (10-0) before beating No. 7 Gananda (3-0) and No. 3 Genesee Valley-Belfast (6-1) in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

Trends: Kendall has won eleven straight games, nine of them by shutout, but the last game it lost was against the same Byron-Bergen squad (2-1) it meets in the Class C2 finals. Byron-Bergen enters the finals on a four-game win streak, having beaten Aquinas in its regular season finale.
