The 2024 Section V Class C2 tournament has 16 teams, including five from the Genesee Region, four from Finger Lakes West, three from the Livingston County Athletic Association, two from Allegany County, and one each from Steuben County and Wayne County. The tournament begins Tuesday, October 22nd, and goes through the C2 finals on Friday, November 1st. The winner of that game faces the Class C1 champ in the regional qualifier on November 5th.
The top seed in the class is Kendall (15-1-0), which is aiming for its first sectional title since it took the D1 crown in 2018. Kendall’s lone loss this season came to three-time defending champion Byron-Bergen (14-1-1), who edged out Genesee Valley-Belfast (14-1-1) for the second seed. Warsaw (11-3-2) rounds out the top four seeds – a sectional title would be the school’s first since a C1 title in 2021.
Other teams of note include a pair of 11-win teams in fifth-seed Caledonia-Mumford (11-4-1) and seventh-seeded Gananda (11-5-0), as well as eighth-seeded Dundee/Bradford (10-6-0). Ninth-seed Oakfield-Alabama/Elba enters the tournament after finishing the regular season with three wins and a tie in its last four games. Gananda won the C1 title in 2022.
