Advantage Federal Credit Union Sectional Preview: Girls’ Class B Soccer

The 2024 Section V Girls’ Soccer Class B bracket features six Livingston County Athletic Association teams, four Finger Lakes East Region, along with one team each from Finger Lakes West, Wayne County the Private-Parochial league and an Independent. The Class B tournament kicks off this Tuesday, October 22nd with first round action. The Finals for Class B are scheduled for Friday, November 1st, 2024.

Hornell enters the post season atop Class B with on a seven-game winning streak and only one loss to league opponents. The Red Raiders look to revisit the finals and win its second title in four years with the Red Raiders last coming in 2020. Livingston County rival Livonia sits as the second seed with ten wins on the season and only two losses to league opponents. The Bulldogs look for revenge this year after falling in the semi-finals last year due to penalty kicks against Mynderse, 5-3.

Third seed, Waterloo, enters the post season on a two-game winning streak while Penn Yan sits in the four slot with eleven wins on the season, including a 3-0 win earlier in the season at Waterloo. Haverling is the reigning champ and also won three championships (’20-’22) in class B2. The Rams enter as the tenth seed this year with six wins on the season.
