Five Monroe County schools, four Finger Lakes East members, two Private-Parochial squads and one independent team form the 2024 Section V Class A Girls’ bracket. A four-team round one will commence on Wednesday, Oct. 23 beginning with No. 5 Our Lady of Mercy hosting No. 12 Rochester Prep. The finals will be held at Rush-Henrietta on Saturday, Nov. 2.

With Aquinas moving to Class AA, this tournament will see a different champion than last year. No. 1 Pittsford Mendon, winners of Class A2 in ’21, managed 10 league wins and a 13-1-1 overall regular season record for the tournament’s top seed. The Vikings won their last six games. Notably, No. 6 Palmyra-Macedon reached the semifinals last year after back-to-back Class B1 titles in ’21 and ’22.

No. 2 Wayne went 15-0-1 in the regular season – the only undefeated team on the bracket. No. 3 Pittsford Sutherland – ’23 Class A runner-up – collected 11 wins without losing any of its final 10 games. No. 4 Greece Olympia won 10.
