The 2024 Section V Class C2 tournament has 12 teams this season, that includes four teams from Finger Lakes West, two each from Genesee Region, Steuben County, and Allegany County, and one each from the Wayne County league and Livingston County Athletic Association. Last year’s champion, Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale, has moved to Class C1, ensuring this year will have a new sectional title-holder. Play starts on Wednesday, October 23rd, and goes through the C2 finals at Honeoye Falls-Lima on Saturday, November 2nd. The winner of Class C2 faces the Class C1 champ in the regional qualifier on Wednesday, November 6th.

The top four seeds each get byes to the quarterfinals, with top-seeded Kendall (14-1-1) looking to improve on a semifinal run last season. The Eagles have won nine straight since a tie with Holley on Sept. 23, and haven’t lost since a defeat to Holley on Sept. 6. Second-seeded Dundee/Bradford (13-3-0) is going for its first sectional title in boys’ soccer, and comes into the postseason with 11 wins in its last 12 games. Genesee Valley-Belfast (13-2-1), in the third seed, has never won a sectional title as a combined program but Belfast won a title as recently as 2017 and Genesee Valley won in 2002. Fourth-seeded Perry (12-4-0) enters the tournament on a four-game win streak.

Other teams to watch include the fifth-seeded Campbell-Savona (12-4-0) squad, which competed last season in Class C1. Sixth-seeded HAC (6-8-1) finished 2-1-1 in its final four games.
