PITTSFORD, N.Y. — Hilton quarterback Matt Kosiorek only completed four passes against Pittsford on Friday night but two of them went for touchdowns to help lead the Cadets to a 21-7 win over the Panthers.
Drew O’Buck rushed for 100 yards and scored the other Hilton touchdown as they jumped out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back.
Kosiorek hooked up with Jacob Russell on a nine-yard strike to open the scoring in the second quarter, and then O’Buck made it 14-0 on a five-yard rush.
The Panthers drove inside the Hilton ten in the closing seconds of the half but the clock ran out after quarterback Joshua Shadders was stopped just short of the goal line.
In the third, Kosiorek found Braydon Pike from 40 yards out to provide the cushion they needed.
James Mobley scored for Pittsford later in the third but any chance their last chance went by the wayside when they were stopped on fourth down inside the Cadets’ 20 with less than four minutes to go in the game.
Pike finished with 11 tackles while senior defensive end Caleb Greyson accounted for eight tackles and two sacks.
The Cadets will play their home opener next Friday against Rush-Henrietta while Pittsford heads on the road to take on UPrep.
