In a game that was suspended Friday night due to inclement weather, AJ Theodorakakos scored all three Penfield touchdowns. He carried the ball 12 times for 148 yards plus the scores. Zane Kropman took 11 chances on the ground for 54 yards. Defensively, Aaron Hardaway broke up two passes coupled with an interception and a forced fumble. Ronan Boyle had six tackles, two for loss.

In a losing effort, Jayvon Johnson led UPrep receivers with five catches for 95 yards. Tavion Byrd was 13-of-20 for 150 yards and he added a touchdown rush. CJ Robinson ran 16 times for 89 yards – 5.6 yards per rush. Paris Brooken grabbed five receptions for 36 yards. Defensively, Cashmere Williams recorded 7.5 tackles with one for loss. Taivon Wilson tallied eight wrap-ups. Landon Nesmith had a quarterback hurry plus a tackle for loss. Kamari Miller recovered a fumble to go along with five tackles. Jahmere Walters returned a kickoff 58 yards.

L/W/P’s ground game scored all four touchdowns. Caden Sumeriski, Jake McEntire and Noah Leitten each carried the ball nine times. Sumeriski ran for 150 yards and scored once. McEntire found the end zone twice with 68 rushing yards. Leitten also scored on top of 62 rushing yards and 14 tackles defensively with a sack. Carter Pricer got two sacks and forced two fumbles while scooping up one. Ayden Miller contributed two sacks and recovered a fumble. Hayden Schroeder blocked a field goal. Gage Slocum converted on all three PATs he tried. In the loss, Gavin Armbrewster went 6-of-9 for 53 yards through the air with 42 rushing yards and a score on the ground. Jack Cianfrini – 10 carries for 92 rushing yards – ran for O-A/E’s other touchdown and added nine tackles defensively. Avery Watterson gained 61 total yards on nine touches while tallying 16 tackles from the linebacker position. Carson Warner had eight tackles. Aedyn Groth recorded a sack and a forced fumble.
“Kudos to a tough, physical, and well-coached LPW team,” O-A/E head coach Tyler Winter said. “We knew we would have our hands full in week one taking on a Class C contender like them. Today’s game is going to serve as great feedback for our group on the areas we need to improve upon to accomplish our goals. The outcome was far from what we hoped for, but the narrative does not change for our team. We will hit the film and begin to shift our sights to week two.”

In Evan Blye’s first start at quarterback for Avon, the junior was 9-of-14 through the air with 110 yards and two touchdowns. Avon ran for 210 yards as a team. Both touchdowns went to Kalman Dolgos. He caught four passes for 55 yards and rushed five times for 46 yards. Wesley Farley found the end zone twice running the ball, adding 59 yards on the ground. From the linebacker position he recorded seven tackles. Connor Smith had seven tackles including a sack and a fumble recovery. Jordan Murray added seven carries for 72 yards and a touchdown. Livonia got a 72-yard kick return touchdown and 32 receiving yards from Andy Crilley. Seth Eadie was 3-of-8 passing for 57 yards and made eight tackles. Jacob Benitez reeled in two passes for 25 yards and ran for 13 more. Derek Lane intercepted a pass.
“Always good to start the season with a win,” Avon head coach Andrew Englert said. “We played pretty good ball today but need to clean some things up. Richie is doing good things over there at Livonia, they played a physical game today.”

Noah Attebery totaled 137 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries to lead Attica. Landyn Nagel’s nine carries resulted in 79 yards and a touchdown. He also got a sack. Taylor Zimmerman ran it six times for 56 yards and a score. Defensively, he made seven tackles. Hunter Green recovered a fumble.

Caleb Felski ran for 307 yards on 40 carries and 45 yards receiving to finish with four touchdowns to lead Pembroke Jayden Bridge and Jacob Johnson paced the defense with eight tackles apiece. Red Jacket’s Aldric Smith-Free rushed the ball 35 times for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Dillon Janke connected on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Truman Hill. Hill had 90 yards receiving. On the other side of the ball, Wyatt Rossignol made eight tackles and intercepted a pass. Barrett Wetherbee chipped in five tackles.
