Christian Bengry added a goal of his own 11 minutes later. Connor Walsh tallied a helper on the Bengry goal. Ryder Lucas recorded a clean sheet in net for the Patriots.

Caden Leonard opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and Avon did not look back, winning its season opener. Two minutes after the Leonard tally, Ryan Weslowski set up a Joshua Harter tally to give Avon a two-goal lead. Trevor Stroud chipped in a goal of his own in the second half. Jack DeVito recorded nine saves in a clean sheet.
