Urgent Dental Wednesday Boys’ Soccer Wrap: Kuby lifts Penfield in Sectional rematch; Burns, Niles duo pace Williamson

Jackson Kuby ripped home a feed from Mason Vallow in the 63rd minute, giving Penfield a lead it did not relinquish in a rematch of last year’s Class AA semifinal. Christian Bengry added a goal of his own 11 minutes later. Connor Walsh tallied a helper on the Bengry goal. Ryder Lucas recorded a clean sheet in net for the Patriots.

Caden Leonard opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and Avon did not look back, winning its season opener. Two minutes after the Leonard tally, Ryan Weslowski set up a Joshua Harter tally to give Avon a two-goal lead. Trevor Stroud chipped in a goal of his own in the second half. Jack DeVito recorded nine saves in a clean sheet.

Ben Burns and Tim Niles both netted a pair to lift Williamson to a season-opening win in Wayne County action. Burns and Niles tallied a pair of assists apiece.

Evan DeWispelaere found the back of the net twice leading North Rose-Wolcott to a home opening win in Wayne County action. Eli DeRoo and Clayton Collins both tallied a helper for the Cougars. Landon Bundy made 12 saves. For Sodus, Cooper Ingersoll netted the lone goal. Kyle Pickering made five stops in goal.
