Another top prospect of the Washington Nationals is coming to the Rochester Red Wings.
Brady House, a 21-year-old third baseman, was promoted from AA Harrisburg on Sunday. He’ll join the Red Wings beginning with their series in Worcester on Tuesday. The Nationals released pitcher Luke Farrell as a corresponding move.
House is the No. 3 prospect in the Nationals system, according to MLB.com, and is rated No. 44 in all of baseball by the site. The only two prospects ahead of him on MLB.com’s list, James Wood and Dylan Crews, have each played for the Red Wings this season, with Wood recently earning a call-up to the parent club.

The Georgian, initially drafted 11th overall in the 2021 draft, is a career .280 hitter with a .347 on-base percentage and .454 slugging percentage in 224 minor league games and 947 plate appearances. Although he has struggled to hit for average this season in Harrisburg (.234 in 274 at-bats), he’s remained a major power threat tied for third in the Eastern League in home runs, with 13. He’s also well-regarded for his infield arm, which inspired a move to third from shortstop in 2023.
The 6’4” righty has previously represented the Nationals at the 2023 Futures Game and twice played for Team USA in youth world championships.
The Red Wings gain House’s services with the team already on a tear, going 10-2 to start the second half of the International League’s split-season schedule- good for first place. They’ve won five straight, including a walk-off victory against Buffalo on Saturday. However, they are set to begin two weeks away from Innovative Field, beginning with Tuesday’s game at the Worcester Red Sox at 6:45 P.M. Left-hander Andrew Alvarez (1-2, 6.52 ERA) is scheduled to start.
The Wings’ next home game is Tuesday, July 23, against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at 6:45 P.M.
