Jack Kelly led Webster Schroeder to a Monroe County Division I title. Carraig Jones (Irondequoit) and Shane Talbot (Webster Thomas) both finished off their senior campaign with Player of the Year honors. Connor Osier led Greece Athena to the Section V Class AA title game. Paul Byrne reached the NYSPHSAA Class A Semifinal with Pittsford Sutherland. Coaches in each of the Monroe County divisions have announced their Players of the Year honors for this season, as well as All-League teams.
Kelly (Schroeder) finished with a 6-1 record, striking out 68 and posting a 1.68 ERA for the Warriors this season. The junior right-hander hurled six innings in a 9-0 victory over Hilton on April 29, scattering four hits and fanning eight. Kelly faced the minimum in three of the six innings in that contest.
At the dish, Kelly batted .406 with five doubles and one three-bagger. The junior drove in 16 runs, trotted home 14 times and swiped six bags this season.

Joining Kelly on the First-team Division I Team is teammate Tyler Cannon. Weston Elkovitch, Nick Kriegelstein, Andrew Stagnitto and John Swartz all made the team from Victor. Seniors Jackson Rucker, Sam Miller and Nate VanDeVoorde were named to the First-team from Fairport. Steven Kraus (Hilton), Mason Davey (Rush-Henrietta) and Patrick Emling (Penfield) rounded out the Division I team.
Jones (Irondequoit) and Talbot (Webster Thomas) both garnered the honor for Division II. Jones finished the season with a .318 average, connecting on 12 extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs and drove in 12 runs. On the mound, the senior went 4-2 with a save and a 1.40 ERA. Jones hurled back-to-back two-hitters against Churchville and Canandaigua on May 11 and May 18, respectively.
Jones wraps up his four-year varsity career batting .353 with 19 doubles, eight triples and four home runs. On the basepaths, Jones stole 37 bases during his career.
Talbot drove in 20 runs and scored 16 alongside a .343 average for the Titans. The senior connected on six extra-base hits, including one home run. On the mound, Talbot struck out 17 over 14 innings of work and did not commit an error in the field on 44 chances.
In his three-year varsity career, Talbot was named to the All-League team twice and was a member of the 2022 Section V Class A1 champion Titans. He ends his varsity career with a .333 average, driving in 44 runs while scoring 48. In 88 innings of work on the mound, Jones boasted an 11-4 record with a 2.40 ERA and 55 strikeouts.
Joining Talbot on the Divison II First-team are teammates Joe Presutti and AJ LaLoggia. Joshua Campbell, Michael Sardou and Braedon Reina all garnered First-team honors from Churchville-Chili. Nolan Bonnell and Wes Sturrup both were honored from Brighton. Andrew McManus (Gates Chili) rounded out the team.
Osier (Greece Athena/Houston) batted .431 and connected on 10 extra-base hits, including one home run against Canandaigua on May 9. Osier drove in 28 and scored 15 runs during the regular season. On the mound, the University of Houston commit went 4-1 with a 1.51 ERA. Osier hurled 32 innings and struck out 64.
Osier, the Class AA Player of the Year, toed the rubber twice in the postseason hurling 6.2 innings, striking out nine. At the plate, the senior drove in two and roped a double and a single and finished with a slash line of .423/.470/.648 and drove in 30 runs.
Joining Osier on the First-team are teammates Derrick Allen and Sammy Saucke. Nate Brinza, Payton Holtby and Jack Clark all made the team from Canandaigua. Brayden Scaccia and David D’Ambrosia both garnered First-Team honors from Brockport. Frank Grad IV (Spencerport) and Dom Zona (Greece Arcadia) rounded out the Division III team.
Byrne (Pittsford Sutherland) boasted a 7-3 record and one save for his senior season. The 2023 Class A2 Player of the Year struck out 102 and posted an ERA of 2.11 this season. Byrne hurled a complete game against Pittsford Mendon on April 20, allowing one run on two hits and striking out 10.
Byrne’s best performance this season came against Amherst in the Class A Far West Regional. The senior went 9.1 scoreless innings, allowing three hits while fanning 14 in a 2-0 win for Pittsford Sutherland.
Teammates Aidan Kress and Jax Bernas joined Byrne on the Division IV First-team. Cole Grazioplene, Jameson Motyka and Bronx Buchholz all made the team from Batavia. Aidan Neenan and Landon Hammond both garnered First-team honors from Honeoye Falls-Lima. Brennen Russo (Eastridge) and Colden Forney (Pittsford Mendon) rounded out the team.
