CLASS B

SCHUYLERVILLE (III) 1
WELLSVILLE (23-1) 7
Makenna Dunbar hit a three-run home run in the third to break a 1-1 tie and pave the way for Wellsville’s first state title. Natalie Adams also homered, leading off the fourth with a solo shot. From the circle, Makenzie Cowburn went the distance for the win, going all seven innings while striking out nine while allowing seven hits and an earned run. Averee Palmitier went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI at the plate, while Sawyer Burke and Hailey Cowburn rounded out the hit column for the Lions. This was Wellsville’s first-ever trip to the state finals.

CLASS C

BERNE-KNOX-WESTERLO (II) 1

Bloomfield suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Berne-Knox-Westerlo (II) in the NYS Class C championship game on Saturday, ending a historic season that saw the Bombers (21-3) claim their first sectional title, regional title, and state championship appearance… READ MORE HERE.
