William Stanek went 3-for-4 with three RBI including a two-run single in the bottom of the first that gave Fairport a lead they never gave up. The Red Raiders earned a spot in the state finals and a shot at the first state title in the program’s history. Samuel Miller started the game for Fairport and went 5.2 innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out seven on the mound while helping his cause at the plate with a three-run triple to right in the bottom of the second. Samuel Roselli relieved Miller and threw the last 1.1 innings, holding Commack hitless while striking out a batter while notching a hit at the plate and an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Patrick Lindquist had a 2-for-3 night, doubling and tripling while driving in two runs and drawing a walk for the Red Raiders. Nathan VanDeVoorde hit safely twice, as did Matthew Bartusek. Fairport faces Section I champions Ketcham in the Class AAA finals on Saturday at 4:00 PM on the campus of Binghamton University.

Samuel Renica singled and drew a walk as Pittsford Sutherland fell in the semifinals. Tyler Allen doubled, while Owen Osborne, Jaxon Bernas, and Ryan Munzinger rounded out the hit column for the Knights. Samuel Byrne threw two innings of hitless relief, striking out three. This was Sutherland’s sixth trip to the state semifinals in the program’s history.

Trey Buchholz went 2-for-3 at the plate and stole a base while giving up two hits and no earned runs in 2.1 innings of relief on the mound, but it wasn’t enough as Bolivar-Richburg fell in it’s first trip to the state semifinals in 10 years. Kingston Loucks drove in the Wolverines’ lone run, singling in a run in the second inning to make the game 2-1. Landon Barkley singled, stole a bag, and pitched 3.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits. Charles Militello walked twice, while Aydin Sisson walked and was hit by a pitch.

ARKPORT-CANASERAGA (16-3) 6
Micah Marvin threw three no-hit innings and struck out five as Arkport-Canaseraga beat the two-time defending state champions to move on to the title game. Jacob Bacon drove in two on a third-inning triple, while Bryer Drake had a double and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. They’ll play Section III champion Oriskany at 10 AM on Saturday at Binghamton University, a win would mean the Wolves’ first state title as a combined program, although Arkport won one as a solo program in 2009.
