One squad is looking to advance to the NYS Semifinal for the second time in program history and to continue the quest for a second state title in the last three seasons. The other enters as the defending Class AA state champion and boasts a 6-1 record in regionals since 2004. Webster Schroeder and Clarence will meet on Saturday to decide who advances to the NYS Semifinal. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Top-seeded Webster Schroeder beat Brockport (9-0) and Victor (1-0) to reach the title game. The Warriors then took down their crosstown rival, Webster Thomas (9-1) to win the Section V Class AA title. Clarence defeated Starpoint, Niagara-Wheatfield and top-seeded Williamsville East to capture the Section VI crown.

History 101: Webster Schroeder enters the Far West Regional for the second time in three years and fourth time in program history. The Warriors downed Williamsville South en route to their 2022 state championship and hold a 1-2 record in regionals. Clarence is looking to advance to the NYS Semifinal for the seventh time in the past 20 seasons and to repeat as state champions. Since 2004, the Red Devils are 6-1 in regional play and have won two state titles (2012, 2023).
What’s at stake: A spot in the NYS Class AA Semifinal against the winner of Kennedy (VIII) and West Islip (XI).
