Hitting out of the leadoff spot, Jake Stowell lined out in his first at-bat of the game. It looked like the senior centerfielder had put the Legends on the scoreboard in the third with a two-out single. Trey Buchholz earned tournament MVP honors after he threw a complete game victory for Bolivar-Richburg on Sunday. The senior allowowed four hits and an earned run while striking out ten on the mound and went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI at the plate as the Wolverines won the sectional title. Buchholz’s biggest offensive contribution came in the fourth, as he singled home the game-winning run with two outs to make it 3-2. Charles Militello went 1-for-2 with a walk, driving in the tying run in the second before scoring a go-ahead run later in the inning on a fielder’s choice to make it 2-1. Reiss Gaines hit safely twice, stole five bases, and scored a run. Tavyn MacDonnell scored a run. Phillip Dotterweich tripled in a first-inning run for Geneseo and allowed four hits and three earned runs from the mound, striking out nine. Preston Granger went 1-for-2 with the Blue Devils’ other RBI. Bryce Patterson and Kellen O’Brien notched a hit each, with Patterson scoring. Oren Ray scored a run.

Michah Marvin struck out 10 and took home the Class D tournament MVP for Arkport-Canaseraga.
