Evan Bishop and Aaden Bishop combined on a four-hit shutout to keep HF-L in check. Brennen Russo singled and eventually scored the winning run. Evan Bishop started and struck out seven over 7.2 innings of work. The junior scattered three hits and three walks. Aaden Bishop came on in relief with bases loaded and retired the first batter he faced before finishing off the game with an inning and a third of scoreless relief. Russo led the ninth with a single and moved to second on Evan Bishop’s one-out single. Russo stole third and came home with the winning run on a wild pitch. HF-L’s Jack Farabell finished 3-for-4 on the day. The Cougars had two on base in the bottom of the ninth. The game was part of the Strike Out Lou Gehrig’s Disease Classic played at HF-L.

Bruce Hanna had a two-RBI triple in the top of the fourth inning as Gates Chili overcame a 3-0 deficit in the win. Jordan Hoock doubled and produced two RBI, a run scored, and drew a walk. Cole Gorman threw a complete game striking out five batters and also singled and scored. Dylan Sweeney doubled. Andrew McManus singled, drew two walks, and crossed home plate. Peter Dellefave III tallied an RBI, a walk, and a run. Jacob Gangross and Jaylen Givens each scored a run, with Gangross also getting on base once via a walk. Noah Wagner had two hits including a double and paired them with two RBI and a run scored for Brighton. Wesley Sturrup had a single, a RBI, a run, and drew a walk. Sturrup pitched three and two third innings as the starting pitcher for the Bruins and picked up four strikeouts. Grady Hopkin doubled and threw one out in relief. Sal Burge and Nathan Bondi both singled once. Nolan Bonnell and John Ahrens were each walked once. Ahrens threw the final three innings and earned three strikeouts.

Lucas Karelus threw the final two innings in relief and picked up two strikeouts. Cole Grazioplene picked up a double, two singles, and both scored a runner and himself for Batavia. Stewart finished with three RBI on the game. Grimes added a walk. Dylan Savage doubled and scored. Caden Richards was the starter for the Royal Comets, striking out five batters over four innings and adding two singles at the plate. Hayden Hodgeman was awarded the win on the mound affter throwing two scoreless innings while only allowing one hit. Noah Sherman singled, scored, and tallied two RBI. Derek VanAuker turned in a single, a drawn walk, and a run. Austin Yageric singled and scored. Matthew Turner was walked once. Nolan Bonnell pitched six and a third innings in a starting job for Brighton while contributing three strikeouts. Bonnell also doubled and paired it with an RBI and a run scored.
