Friday Baseball Wrap: Dotterwiech, Davis hurl shutout for Geneseo; Thomas smacks three hits to boost Haverling

Gage Thomas finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to lift Haverling. Thomas drove in Dylan Wenban in the fifth with a base knock and went 4.1 innings on the mound, allowing two runs on two hits and whiffing seven. Evan Pendle and Alex Beyler both recorded two hits for the Rams. Pendle went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored. Beyler strung together two hits in four at-bats and drove in two. Beyler also crossed home twice. Eric Carney-Hendrix knocked in two with a single in the first to put Haverling up 4-0. Owen Smith tallied an RBI single in the third and scored twice. Smith also threw 2.2 hitless innings out of the bullpen and struck out four. Mason Davis singled, scored and drove in one for the Rams. For Hornell, Charlie Oyer went 1-for-2. Wyatt Evingham and Ashton Hooker both drove in a run.

WARSAW (0-1) 0
GENESEO (1-0) 4

Phillip Dotterwiech fanned 11 of his 12 recorded outs and allowed two hits while not issuing a walk, to lead Geneseo on the mound. In the fifth inning, Luke Davis relieved Dotterwiech and went three innings, allowing one hit and striking out six. Oren Ray went 2-for-3 at the dish to pace the Blue Devil offense. Ray also drove one in. Dotterweich scampered home twice. Brady O’Brien, Tyler Churchfield and Cooper Warner all singled once. O’Brien crossed home once, while Warner recorded an RBI. For Warsaw, Dom Fanaro went a perfect 3-for-3.
