Cam Blankenberg and PJ Ostrowski tallied 51 of Wayne’s 61 points, leading the Eagles into the Boys’ NYS Class A final with a 61-48 win over Friends Academy (VIII) on Friday. READ MORE

It was a night where seemingly nothing went right for the Lyons Lions. It ended with their season coming to a close as the Moravia Blue Devils advanced to the Class C State championship with a 56-45 win. READ MORE

WAYNE (24-3) 50
GLENS FALLS (II) 37

It was a big game feel inside a near-capacity Cool Insuring Arena for the NYSPHSAA Class A championship. In the end, the majority of the fans at Glens Falls left happy as the Glens Falls Black Bears knocked off the Wayne Eagles 50-37. The loss put a close on what was a historic season for Wayne basketball. READ MORE

AVOCA-PRATTSBURGH ( 57
SACKETS HARBOR (III) 58

In the last few years Avoca-Prattsbrugh has entered the state tournament with a target on its back in Class D. The two-time defending state champion’s target was at its largest entering Saturday’s state semifinal and the Section III champion Sackets Harbor Patriots hit the bullseye. Behind 12-for-28 shooting from distance and timely stops late, the Patriots unseated the Titans, 58-57. READ MORE
