West Herr NYSPHSAA Ice Hockey Tournament Wrap: Milovidov tallies two for BND; Brock and Callery each register two assists for McQuaid

DIVISION I

ORCHARD PARK (18-6-0/VI) 3
MCQUAID (19-6-0/ V) 2 OT
Chase Brock and Jack Callery both recorded assists on both McQuaid’s goals in their overtime loss. Liam Palmer got the Knights on the board less than three minutes into the contest. Palmer fired home a rebound that bounced out to the left face off circle. Brady Ciano tied the game for Orchard Park 20 seconds into the second period on the power play. Danny Wehle Regained the lead for MCQuaid after he took advantage of a Quaker turnover. Ciano tied the game for Orchard Park with a tip-in goal with 1:21 remaining in regulation and the Quaker net empty. Ciano completed the hat trick for Orchard Park with the overtime game-winning goal to send the Quakers to the Division I New York state championship game.

DIVISION II

BATAVIA NOTRE DAME (22-3-0/ V) 2
SKANEATELES LAKERS (23-1-0/III) 7
Ivan Milovidov tallied both goals for Batavia Notre Dame in their loss to Skaneateles. Milovidov got the United on the board early in the first period with a shot from the high slot that beat the Lakers goaltender. Skaneateles scored five unanswered goals. Braeden Taggart tied the game with 53 seconds left in the first period. Luke Mizro gave the Lakers the lead at the halfway point of the second period. Andrew Gaglione added on to the Skaneateles lead just under two minutes later. Jack Torrey tallied a power play goal to extend the Laker’s goal to three. Cole Palmer scored the fourth Skaneateles goal of the second period to give them a 5-1 lead heading into the second intermission. Milovidov stopped the bleeding with a goal that softy beat the Skaneateles goalie through the five hole to stop the bleeding. Casey Morissey and Sean Kerwick both scored shorthanded goals to seal the Lakers chance to defend their Division II New York state championship.
