The scoreboard clock at Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester Community War Memorial showed 7:47 remaining in the fourth quarter and Clar’s Victor Blue Devils trailing the Greece Athena Trojans, winners of 23 games and the top-ranked Class AA team in the state, 49-45.

Class C3 Section Tournament MVP Jaden Sherwood scored 15 of his game-high 29 points in the first half as Notre Dame-Batavia brought a 33-20 lead into the locker room. Sherwood connected 11 times from the floor. Chase Antinore added 18 points in the win. Jay Antinore hit for 10 points. Ryan Fitzpatrick (7), Gabe Mileham (3) and Mavrik Hall (3) each scored in the win. Tim Vilkhu led Arkport-Canaseraga with 15 points. Macoy Putnam scored his game-high 17 points in the first three quarters as Avoca-Prattsburgh had a 37-23 lead going into the final frame to continue on to win its fourth straight sectional title. Putnam hit seven times from the floor. Jaeden Crowder and Daniel Stilson each finished with 12 points in the win. Christopher Abbott (8) and Collin Zurlick (1) each also scored in the win. Angelo Penna topped Elba with 15 points. Ashton Rezon (8), Nicholas Scott (5), Ryan Marsceill (4), Michael Long (3) and Jadiel Amaro (2). Avoca-Prattsburgh scored its lowest point total in nine games after averaging 65.5 PPG all year.
