For the third time this season, Victor and Hilton square off against one another, this time for the Section V Class AA crown. One group aims for its fourth title and first in 34 years. Another squad is looking for its third title in program history. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Top-seeded Victor opened up the postseason with a 57-31 win over Spencerport. The Blue Devils then defeated Webster Schroeder (55-51) to reach the Class AA title game. Hilton defeated Wilson/Early College (65-22), Penfield (66-50) and Bishop Kearney (59-48) to advance to the championship.

Trends: Victor is riding a 13-game win streak. During that time, the Blue Devils have won six games by at least 10 points. Hilton has won five games in a row all by double-digit margins.

History 101: Victor is looking for its first sectional title since 1990 and fourth in program history. Last year, the Blue Devils fell to the eventual NYS champion, Webster Schroeder, in the semifinals. Hilton is making its first sectional title game appearance since 2016. The Cadets last took home the block in 2011.
What’s at stake: A spot in the Class AA Far West Regional against the Section VI winner.
