How they arrived here: Top-seeded Pittsford Sutherland downed Batavia (61-34) and Newark (56-43) to reach the sectional title game. Aquinas took down Young Women (90-28), Mercy (54-42) and upset Palmyra-Macedon (59-33) en route to the championship game.

Trends: Pittsford Sutherland has won four in a row and six of its last seven games. The Knights have won each of those games by a double-digit margin. Aquinas enters on an eight-game win streak and has scored at least 70 points in five of those contests.

History 101: Pittsford Sutherland reaches the Class A sectional final for a third straight year. The Knights last captured the block in 2014 and went on to win the NYS Class A championship, defeating Jamesville-Dewitt (III) 57-41. Aquinas aims to win its fifth title in program history. The Li’l Irish won back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012 and appeared in the NYS Class A final in 2011, falling to Irvington (I) 91-52. AQ won the A2 title in 2018.
What’s at stake: A spot in the Far West Regional against the Class A Section VI winner.
