The 2024 Section V Class D Girls’ bracket showcases four Steuben County teams, three teams each from the Private-Parochial league, Genesse Region and Allegany County. The Finger Lakes league rounds out the bracket with two teams. The tournament will tip-off on Tuesday with all the first-round games and the finalists will meet at Finger Lakes Community College on March 2nd to crown a champion.
The 2-seed Avoca-Prattsburgh will face off against 15-seed Andover-Whitesville who made it to the section final last year. Avoca-Prattsburgh is bringing a 14-game winning streak into sectionals where they have won 11 out of the 14 by double-digits. C. G. Finney grabbed the first-round bye with earning the 1-seed. The Falcons held opponents to just 32.1 points per game all year. Sixth-seeded Notre Dame Batavia enters the postseason winning 10 of its last 12 games, including victories over No. 3-seed Elba and No. 11-seed Lyndonville which is who the Lady Irish will play first.
