West Herr Tuesday Section V Ice Hockey Sectional Wrap: Griffin connects on overtime winner for Greece; Carey scores for Irondequoit

CLASS A FIRST ROUND

NO. 10 BRIGHTON/HFL (5-16-0) 4
NO. 7 GREECE STORM (10-10-1) 5 OT
Spencer Griffin tallied to two goals including the overtime game-winner to help Greece Storm advance in the Class A sectional tournament. Jayden Gargana, Camden Monks, and Alan Wilkins also found the back of the net for the Storm. Grant Peinkopfer, Nick Gray, Patrick Rohr, and Emmet Landt scored for Brighton/HFL. Greece Storm will advance to the Class A quarterfinals to take on the second seed McQuaid.

Dylan Carey and Douglas Velepec scored the goals for Irondequoit in the defeat. Landon Bryan tallied an assist on Carey’s goal. Geneseo/Avon/Livonia will take on top-seeded Batavia Notre Dame in the Class B quarterfinals.
