Kimani Mitchell scored 18 points to lead Franklin/Northeast. The eighth-grader connected eight times from the floor and converted a pair of free throws in the win. Ni’Yahna Mitchell-Lawrence scored seven of her 12 points in the first quarter when Franklin/Northeast jumped out to a 12-3 lead. Jo-Marie Young scored seven points. Janya Coleman-Estrada added six points. Alozi Gibson (2) and Aailiyah Nartey (2) also contributed to the offense. SOTA’s Jasmyne Jones led all scorers with 21 points. The sophomore connected on three 3-pointers. Gabby Norman added seven points, and Laniyah Rand had two.

Semaj Jackson scored nine of her game-high 26 points in the first quarter when East jumped out to a 25-11 lead. Navaeh Grisham finished with 13 points and three steals for East while Gabriella Brown-Sturdivant had 11 points, 10 assists and five steals. East did not trail in the game as the Eagles scored 17 points in the second quarter and 35 points in the second half. For Monroe, Janique Hart led her team in scoring with 14 points. Kamyra Clyburn (8), Tamia Dunham (6), Julie Garcia (5) and Chimora Heard (3) all scored for Monroe. Ali’Yana Robinson (11), Antwanette Coleman (6), Ayasha Cherry-Fayton (4), Sinayah Abney (4) and Jaisia Norris (2) also scored for Monroe. This is the sixth straight win for East.

Caitlyn Ryan led in scoring with 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals for Oakfield-Alabama. Alea Groff had 19 points, five steals and three assists including five 3-pointers. Oakfield-Alabama trailed at halftime 32-29 but then the Hornets outscored Letchworth 26-16 in the second half. For Letchworth, Charity Scott finished with 19 points and five steals while Annika Milillo scored 13 points and 10 rebounds. Abbie DeRock (6), Alyssa Milillo (6), Emily Perl (2) and Sasha Bellamy (2) all scored for the Indians. Piper Hyde (6), Allie Williams (4) and Rylee Denny (1) also scored for the Hornets.
