Michael Sardou went 8-of-9 from the free throw line and scored a game-high 26 points to help Churchville-Chili claim its first win of the season. Trailing by 10 after the first quarter, Sardou scored nine of C-C’s 23 second-quarter points to bring the game to a 32-32 halftime tie. Nine more points in the third quarter helped C-outscore Brockport by 11 in the frame to pull away. Joshua Miner connected on five shots from behind the arc for his 15 points. Isaiah Mead-Jackson had a dozen points after going scoreless in the first quarter. Lucas Karelus got five of his 11 points from the charity stripe. Jason Small knocked down a pair of three-pointers for six points. Talan Finnigan made two fourth-quarter free throws. Daniel Dailey was the leading scorer for Brockport with 13 points. Trefor Hofer tied the single-game program record with 37 points for Penfield, thanks in part to seven three-pointers to help earn the win. Hofer’s best scoring quarter was the third, where he hit three three-pointers and totaled 15 points. Hofer tied a record set in 2005 by Kyle Kovley. Christian Zarzycki tallied 11 points. Other scorers for Penfield were Jackson Green (7), Patrick Emling (7), Jake McCarthy (6), Michael Moxley (5), James Stinebiser (3), Kelsey McGraw (2), and Henry Barber (1). Kyrell Shaw led RPrep with 20 points, 10 of which coming in the game’s first eight minutes. Jahmere Brown scored all of his 13 points in the second half. Leysath scored the game-high 23 points and also brought down nine rebounds and made four steals. McCullough added 22 points, four assists, three steals, and a rebound. Terry turned in a double-double, with 21 points, 10 assists, and three steals. Jadeir Breedlove scored 13 points, made six assists, and added two rebounds and a steal. Micah Anderson had 10 points on five made field goals and additionally had two assists and a rebound. Quante Gillians scored six, while Derrion Buttles had one point. Jr. Dukes led Rochester Academy with 20 points, 18 of which came after the first quarter. Cedrick Azor hit two three-pointers and finished with 10 points. Council finished with a total of 30 points, nine rebounds, five steals, a block, and an assist. Jalen Taggart added 25 points, six rebounds, three assists and knocked down two three-pointers. Myles Collins-Howard had seven first quarter points and wrapped up his night with 10 points, four assists and two rebounds. Zaiden VanDurme Blackmon turned in a statline of 24 points, six rebounds, and three assists and took home tournament MVP in the process for Dansville. Jake Kreiley and Reese Dixon additionally earned all-tournament team honors, with Kreiley adding 14 points and three rebounds and Dixon tallying a dozen points, five rebounds, and four assists. Ivan Wolf Mialky had nine points and worked the glass for seven rebounds. Reid Martin scored four points and had eight rebounds. Caleb Knapp had three points alongside four rebounds. “I’m really proud of this team,” said Dansville head coach Dan Moodie. “We played two great games against solid opponents in back to back days. Each guy is getting better and better, which is exactly what you want to see as a coach. Our ability to change defenses as often as we did, kept us engaged and caused our opponent to have to make adjustments. Our energy at the end of the game was a lot of fun to be a part of.”
