Monroe has not won a section title since 1979 when the Red Jackets won the Class A title. HF-L won its first sectional title in program history during the COVID-19-shortened spring season in 2020-2021. The Cougars also made finals appearances in the 2019 and 2021 seasons.
What’s next: The winner will advance to next week’s Far West Regionals to face the Section VI champion, either Pioneer or Health Sciences/Global Concepts. That matchup will be played on November 18th at 3:30 p.m. at Williamsville South High School.
