Rochester Colonial Weekend Girls’ Soccer Wrap: Fillmore slides into state semis with 20th win; Holley wins first regional title in program history

Making their first regional appearance in program history, the Holley girls defeated Section VI champion Frewsburg, 2-0 to clinch a spot in the New York State Class C semifinals. (Photo provided).

Savanna Biehler connected on a first half penalty kick and Hannah Fleming capitalized on an Eliana Biehler second half corner kick to send Fairport to the Class AAA state semifinals. Fairport’s next opponent is Section IX champion, Monroe-Woodbury.

Hope Russell and Tenlee Miller combined for five goals to lead Fillmore to the Class D state semifinals. Russell punched in three and added an assist. Mattie McCumiskey opened scoring in the eighth minute. Amelia Rose and Grace Russell both finished with two assists. Preslee Miller made two saves for the Eagles’ fifth straight shutout. Fillmore faces Lisbon (X) for a shot at the finals.
